Marketing Department
The main task of the Marketing Department is to promote published games and carry out communication with players, developers, and investors. This is handled by creative people responsible for generating ideas and carrying out marketing campaigns. They create plans and strategies, and lead the communication with players on social media and community channels.
You work at Marketing Department, which means:
You participate in creating the community for our projects! Your workday is full of meetings with video game producers and developers to work on a communication strategy and promotional content together. There’s also brainstorming to create out-of-the-box digital campaigns to engage players, moderating channels, planning content for social media, and reacting to real-time events.
Planning and organizing events with our projects is an important part of marketing too. We keep in touch with influencers and the international press.
There’s no denying that marketing means analyzing the actions as well, so you’ll spend part of your work preparing reports or summaries of finished campaigns to avoid a game over.
TIPS:
- Game on! Play video games and stay up to date on memes—get to know new titles, work out games’ stories, and be aware of what goes on in the gaming community because it’s crucial to know your target audience
- Level up! Even if you start as a noob, you can gain experience by reading blogs or newsletters and grow to become an expert.
- Craft! Generate out-of-the-box ideas that’ll make the company stand out.
- Save mana! Keep a good work-life balance to avoid a burn-out.
